A friend Muhammad Umar Draz recently shared an exchange of letters between a Brigadier of Indian Army and a Lieutenant Colonel of Pakistani army during the 1971 war which clearly shows the valor and courage our army fought with in that war.
The Commander Jamalpur Garrison
I am directed to inform you that your Garrison has been cut off from all sides and you have no escape route available to you. One Brigade, with full compliment of artillery has already been built up and another will be striking by morning. In addition, you have already been given a foretaste of a small element of our Air Force with a lot more to come. The situation as far as you are concerned is hopeless. Your high commanders have already ditched you.
I expect your reply before 6:30pm today, failing which i will be constrained to deliver the final blow for which purpose 40 sorties of MIGs have been alloted to me.
In this morning’s action, the prisoners captured by us have given your strength and positions and are well looked after.
The treatment i expect to be given to the civil messenger should be according to a gentlemanly code of honour and no harm sholud come to him.
An immediate reply is solicited.

Hope this finds you in high spirits. Your letter asking us to surrender has been received. I want to tell you that the fighting you have seen so far is very little, in fact the fighting has not even started. So lets stop negotiating and start the fight.
40 sorties, I may point out, are inadequate. Ask for many more.
Your point about treating your messenger was superfluous. It shows you under-estimate my boys. I hope he liked his tea.
Give my love to the Muktis. Let me see you with a gun in your hand the next time instead of the pen you seem to have such mastery over,
Now get on and fight.

Ok fair enough…. wat happened in the end ??? Pakistan lost ! ! ! So, this means, our brigadier was right in his words ! ! I love to see pakistan losing all the way. I thank god almighty for the GREAT victory of India and huge loss for pakistan.
the post is about valor, perhaps they dont know the meaning of the word in India….

Dear every One,
This great hero died on May 20th 2000, he was given 2 sitara-e-jurats in his lifetime which is a rare acheivement , he’s buried in Army Graveyard Westridge , Rwp. He voluntarily resigned at the rank of a Brig. at the age of 42 because of some clashes with Zia-ul-Haq. He wrote a book published by ISPR titled “The Stolen Victory” , which is about the 1965 war.
Rambo is a great big looser in my opinion , i mean khud tou uss se seedha kharaa b nahin hua jaata and pak army ko yun disgrace kar raha hai, ppl like Rambo 5 shud be kicked several times on their butts b4 they realise that our pak army and Col. Sultan Ahmed are like the best . Such looserific ppl shud look at themselves and their unworthy personalities b4 saying sumthing to sum1 else. Indians in this matter are cowards , aray apne aapko tou dekh lo tum log yaar. Never ever insult the pak army and it’s soldiers in front of me u…….

This Gr8 hero was honoured with two sitara-e-jurats for fighting like a true brave soldier in the 65 and 71 wars, and this is a rare achievement. He retired as a Brig himself coz ov some serious clashes with the dictator Zia-ul-haq. This hero died on May 20th 2000 , and was honoured a great deal at his burial when the pakistan army shot 21 cannons in his honour and dignity. He is buried at Army Graveyard Westridge Rwp. He is one of the most courageous and best soldier in the history of the Pak Army. He also wrote a book “The Stolen Victory” which was about the 65 and 71 war. His family is still honoured even after a decade of his death by the Pak army, which is very rare. May God bless this mighty soldier’s soul in eternal peace.
