5 Mortar bombs ( 82 mm) hit Hayatabad, Peshawar– 16th Sep 2009
It was 1 am, normally I don’t sleep before 3, but today I was about to sleep early when I heard a bomb explosion. I just rushed to window as they seemed to be quite near. And to my surprise a mortar just fell in house in front of our home! And suddenly 2 more huge explosions near our home. I was just feeling like if am in streets of Baghdad or like in Afghanistan!!
2 were on roof tops and 1 fell in lawn of a hose but thanks God there was no casualty. The taliban have been using expired ammo as said by the Bomb disposal squad officer as they didn’t made much damage.
The question is that is our Government failed to tackle taliban? Where an ordinay citizen should go? How much are we safe? Similarly there are many questions which are pointing towards the present government!
The answer surely is No, we are not safe yet!

That’s crazy. Glad to hear that no one was hurt. Have they investigated to find out who fired the mortar?

Well the 82 mm mortar bomb has an effective range of 4.5km.
Actually operation is in progress in Bara area, thats adjacent to Hayatabad. Hayatabad is surrounded by Bara and Khyber agency. If it was fired within the range then there could be much damage expected, so its quite clear that it was fired from about 5 to 7 km range from the side of Khyber agency or Bara area.
