Blackwater is the fed-ex of the national security apparatus. It is the largest and conspicuous security firm today in the whole world comprising of members of security forces and retired military officers which was established in 1997 by right hand and ally of former President George W Bush, Erik Prince at age of 27. Prince joined US navy in 1992. Sold his father’s business for $1.3 billion dollars. He is also believed to be one of the richest guys ever served in military. Blackwater’s head office is in North Carolina, USA. They are now setting their new facilities in other parts of the country too.
Contractors helping out US Military
In Iraq war, this firm contributed alot. They went from $200 thousand contract to $200 million contract due to Iraq war. They received $204,911 in 2000, $774,906 in 2001, $5.1million in 2003, $43.8 million in 2004, $226.1 million in 2005. They attracted attention of Iraqis when they killed 17 innocent civilians in an unprovoked shooting in Baghdad. They were totally not under control of military and were allowed to do whatever they want to. It was estimated by the Pentagon and company representatives that there were 20,000 to 30,000 armed security contractors working in Iraq, and some estimates were as high as 100,000 in 2007, though no official figures existed. Blackwater firm is now also facing charges of human right violation and child prostitution. They are not punished due to their crimes, death toll of these private contractors are not included in the total death count. But there are news that total 780 of these contractors were killed in Iraq war. Bush and his allies shielded this firm from any effective legal system. According to Rep. Jan Schwakowsky who belongs to House Intelligence Committee,
“We know virtually nothing about this, we think 40 cents of every dollar goes to these firms, we don’t know that. We think, about 800 of these contractors got killed in Iraq and we don’t know that. We think, 40,000 contractors are engaged in terrorist related activities but we don’t know that”
But recently, we have seen these people wearing the customary dark glasses and carrying assault rifles zooming around the neighbourhood in their black coloured armoured vehicles. What can this be? Why are they here? Truth is, they are here for more then 2 years now but we didn’t know that.
According to Imtiaz Gul, an Engineer in Peshawar,“Sometimes, these guys stand in the streets and behave rudely with passers-by, sometime they point guns at people without provocation. Who rules our streets? Pakistani govt or the Americans? They have created a state within a state.”
They now can be seen in Quetta, Peshawar, Karachi and even in Islamabad, which is the capital of an independent, ideological state. Prime Minister Yousaf Gillani totally denies their presence in Pakistan. Whereas US Senator admitted himself that Blackwater is working in Pakistan. It is believed that there are more then 700 contractors in Islamabad and Peshawar. Total 288 houses were rented for them in Islamabad. Two of them are very near to Dr. A.Q Khan’s residence. They are roaming in streets like it is their country. In their vehicles, carrying arms and without respecting anyone. Many events 
took place where they were found doing things which they shouldn’t be even doing in their own country. On 25th August, police stopped two suspicious cars with 4 Americans in them. They were carrying automatic rifles. When they were asked for identification, they said they were Blackwater guards. They were arrested and were taken to Margalla police station. American embassy’s security officer Capt Ejaz came and threatened SHO police and took them with him. Similarly another event took place in Islamabad when Mr. Mohsin Bukhari was beaten by these contractors. And you know why? Because he parked his car infront of their vehicle.
In Peshawar, they hired two buildings of 40 rooms each. Similary, their presence in Karachi is also felt. It is believed that they have rented a building for their office in Defence area. It is also believed that 500 bullet and bomb proof Humvees have reached Karachi and are to be transported to their designated areas. Are they preparing for some kind of war? They are not here to save us from *so called* terrorist, i can bet. Because they are terrorizing normal citizens of this country. And also, we dont need them for that. Media is trying to do what it can but funny part is, neither politicians nor this nation giving a damn about it. Most of the people dont even know what Blackwater is. That is one of the reasons I wrote this article. A theory which my friend gave, which can describe their presence here, that they are here to support war on terror. Recently, we have heard alot of news related to attacks on NATO supply lines in our country. Maybe they are here to protect their supplies. But what difference does it make? We said we wont allow US Army in Pakistan but here you go, you have private contractors now who are even dangerous than military.
Please wake up. Spread the word, do something. Before its too late. We dealt with Indians many times. We dealt with Israelis. We dealt with Russians. We dealt with terrorist organisations working under secret agencies who have been trying to sabotage and destroy Pakistan since the day one but they are failing. This maybe one of their plans but InshAllah we’ll fight again and we will show them what we are made up off. But before that, please WAKE UP.

This is a completely false statement. They were under the complete control of the Dep of State working as contracted diplomatic security agents. The company itself has nearly no control over them when they’re on the ground working. There is a misconception about the way things work. When these contracting companies get these type of gov contracts their personnel essentially become federal agents for the time they are working in these zone. Diplomats and government personnel do not get sent to Iraqi courts. Can you imagine the unfair trials that American would receive there? Regardless of the truth, any one who was responsible for an iraqi death would be destroyed in courts.

Read the radio transcripts between the convoy and Embassy. They were shot at as well. One truck had bullet hits all over it. And one of their vehicles was completely disabled and had to be towed out. I’m not saying they’re innocent of any wrong doing doing. I am saying that this is a warzone and prosecution for murder is a difficult thing. How do you convict someone of excessively firing. “I’m sorry sir, you were authorized to shoot the first 3 but not that last one”. It makes no sense. When some of their shots may have been justified. Maybe you should explain why your diplomats working in embassies in other countries have something called Diplomatic Immunity. We have these agreements because the truth is that forgiengers will not receive fair treatment in many other countries. US soldiers are not accountable to foreign courts either. They have their own internal system of justice.
