Plight of Pakistan!

by Arouge on September 19, 2009

One of the most commonly used phrase you might come across in these times of turmoil is ‘This country is hopeless’, ‘Pakistan ka tou Allah he Hafiz hai’. With corruption, nepotism, inflation, and many other social vices going sky high, feelings of despair and disappointment are bound to arise!

Everyday we see people begging for a day’s meal, wheat and sugar crisis has left people to starve for the basic food necessities, load shedding has tested our patience to the very limits, thousands of innocent people are dying in the name of religion, every step you take outside your home, you feel insecure! Is this the way to live in our own homeland?

In search of food?!

In search of food?!

Everyday politicians provide you with another ‘astounding piece of history’ to keep you distracted for a few days, and when that respective issue has created enough sensation, they leave you with a new issue to keep you busy for a few more days. Congratulations, you’re back to square one!

Everyday we see our Government coming up with new schemes and policies that are neither beneficial nor helpful. We see the names of our national heroes, those who burned their midnight oil for the Independence struggle, being replaced with the leader of a popular party! How long will the government cash the name and fame of a ‘martyred leader’? This was supposed to be ‘Quaid ka Pakistan’ not a haven for those who believe in dynastic succession!

The true leader?

The true leader?

Everyday (almost) there is a general discontentment amongst the provinces. The age old feud between Punjabis and Pathans, Sindhis and Baluchis! Why is it that after more than 60 years of Independence we are still facing provincial conflicts? Have we let these provincial boundaries divide our hearts and minds? Why is it that whenever asked about your ‘whereabouts’, you answer ‘Punjab, or Sindh, or NWFP, or Baluchistan’? Is Pakistan not bigger than provincialism? Are we not a part of ONE homeland? Were the sacrifices of hundreds and thousands of people for the independence of this ONE country, in vain?

At daggers drawn?

At daggers drawn?

We have a beautiful country bestowed upon us by Allah’s grace and by the unending efforts of our forefathers. In this time of crisis we have to stand together because ‘united we stand, divided we fall’! We have to realize that if we are not strong internally, how will we defend our nation against the external odds? Pakistan is bigger than caste and creed, religious, ethnic and cultural differences. Criticizing others is not always the best option; the only thing we can change is ourselves! Be the change you want to be! Let us work together in order to contribute towards the betterment and prosperity of our nation!

Long Live Pakistan!

We “are” the solution to these problems !!
We just need to do the right thing and take our country’s fate back into our own hands and yeah away from the greedy hands of the government. We can totally do that !!

Lol, thanks Sk! :p Well, we can only be the solution when we try really hard to overcome our individual weaknesses, I mean in every one of us there’s a potential of being corrupt, however small may that percentage be! More over we’ve got to get out of this ‘popular party’ notion!! It’s about time that we get better leaders!

na yaar, its our moral duty to give vote to a party, who’s chairman’s loved one died !!

Arooaj September 20, 2009 at 3:40 pm

I take it that you are being sarcastic! But, we gave sympathy votes not realizing that it was all preplanned! Khair, what’s done, can’t be undone! Until a miracle happens, of course!
