Beyond the Operation.(connecting the dots)!

With Pakistan Army now at war against Taliban in South Waziristan agency. The United States and its coalition forces have removed more than 11 security check posts located at the Pak-Afghan border, and then they call themselves as friends of Pakistan.

The conclusions one can draw from why U.S security check posts have been removed from the Pak-Afghan border can be:

1. To ease up the supply of arms and ammunition from that side of the border to Taliban fighting with Pakistan army.

2. To provide a safe passage to the fleeing Taliban fighters to go back to Afghanistan, regroup and reorganize themselves and then come back for terrorist activities.

It is clear that without even consulting Pakistani authorities as soon as they launched a ground offensive, more than 11 security check posts have been removed from the border areas adjoining Pakistani South Waziristan agency with the afghan Paktia province. Therefore today Pakistanis have been forced to think that whether there is another bigger operation being planned in the minds of U.S administration. There are even unconfirmed reports of helicopters air lifting senior Taliban leaders from the tribal areas of Pakistan just before the ground offensive was launched by Pakistan army.

Here one is forced to think that what is the bigger game being played in this region beyond this operation?

In Pakistan, history has proved that terrorism is not being contained as a result of such operations. And also whenever a peace accord was reached in Waziristan agency (between Taliban and Pakistani forces), it was shattered by a drone attack from United States the very next day. As a matter of fact terrorism in Pakistan is increasing and that too in a much more lethal form day by day. The operation against Taliban in Waziristan and other agencies started in 2004. But since then the graph of suicide attacks has only risen up every year resulting in the deaths of innocent civilians and Pakistani security personnel.

Getting back to the point, by removing the security check posts from the bordering areas maybe the United States wants to prolong the Pakistan army’s war against the Taliban. Because if this war is prolonged it is in the interest of America, Israel and India. How?

1. Since Pakistan is getting very little military aid from the United States, as a result Pakistan’s economy will crumble and Pakistan will become more dependent on international aid.

2. Pakistan army’s involvement in this war for a longer period will eventually decrease the military strength and weaken Pakistan militarily.

3. This will further more decrease the stiffness of Pakistan for its nuclear program and enemies of Pakistan exactly want a non-nuclear weak Pakistani state.

4. The big powers would further more start dictating humiliating terms to a helpless Pakistani administration dependant on their aid (like in the Kerry Lugar bill).

5. As a permanent base in Afghanistan, U.S and India together will be able to encircle China more easily.

The unrest in Balochistan also indicates that there is a foreign hand in the separists movements there. Gwadar port is considered to be the base of the upcoming super power China. And the last thing that India and the United States want is a super power China.

There is definitely a bigger game being played out there and most of the Pakistani officials know it. Most of the terrorist activities in Pakistan are sponsored by anti Pakistan foreign forces. The current terrorist attacks in the cities of Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar or even the attack on GHQ was operated by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, but there is no doubt that this was sponsored and funded by foreign forces, just to push Pakistani authorities for Waziristan operation. These attacks also brought whole of the Pakistani people in support of the Waziristan operation.

What should be kept under consideration is that India has 6 or more consulates alongside the Pak-Afghan border, from where they are supporting the Taliban in Pakistan. And Pakistani government has been unable to get them closed. India has also given $1.2 billion aid to Afghanistan for suspicious reasons.

But the question remains, Are Pakistani people seeing the whole picture?
