In Pakistan, the “next 48 hours” are always crucial!
Chief of Army Staff
Yes this is the statment that is issued every second day! Now again looking at the country’s sitution, there are rumours that Gen Kiyani and top military officials are considering of imposing a state of emergency in country. The state of emergency in which the human rights are ceased, one can’t protest, complaint etc. In short, its the state what ever it wants to do! But I hope many of the readers will agree that Pakistan really needs EMERGENCY as the present govt has failed to control the situation!
Saudi Gazette, Jeddah Reports:
Pakistani military sources said on Friday that the army was considering announcing a state of emergency in the country following the deterioration of the security situation as the military operation continues against the Taleban.
The sources said that a National Security Council meeting due to be held within the next 48 hours will consider Chief of the Army Staff Gen. Ashfaq Kayani assuming the role of chief executive in order to supervise security with the presidency and government institutions continuing their activities in governing the country. According to the sources, the move has received preliminary acceptance from the Pakistani presidency, although a source at the Presidency denied knowledge of any such move being tabled for discussion.
The state of emergency would continue until the end of the operation, the sources said, which the military has scheduled to last eight weeks. An official army source told Okaz, however, a state of emergency announcement was “mere speculation”, and declined to provide further details.
Meanwhile, the Kingdom’s ambassador to Islamabad is to hold an emergency meeting Sunday to consider the status of Saudi schools and the embassy’s affiliated offices in the light of the current security situation in Pakistan. Ambassador Abdul Aziz Al-Ghadeer said that a decision would be taken on the resumption of classes at Saudi schools following a one-week suspension due to security concerns. The schools are currently due to reopen Monday.
Emergency evacuation plans are also in place, he added, for the 250 to 300 Saudi nationals in Pakistan .”
Remember, this statment is first disclosed by Saudi Media, there must be something cooking inside!
Lets hope for the best and be ready for the worst!

i want army to take control
well the arab media has a repo for being unreliable. moreover i am afraid army’s taking over state control will only worsen the situation. although i beleive nobody fancies the present government much, including me, but we have to remember that numerous such operation were launched, with musharaf at the helm of affairs but they all failed. why? cause he could not gather public support for the operations. it is hard for a general no matter how able he is to do so. it was the same army that successfully completed the swat operation, and indeed it did a fine job . the only difference this time was that the civilian government successfully gathered public support for the operation.
our army is doing a good job this time too. but there are may aspects of a war, and we sould let the civilian government deal witt its aspects. we should remember, it was the combination of Churchil and Mountgomery that helped england win WWII.
@salman
well, 1st of all i mentioned of saudi arabia because they always have played in one way or the other in our politics!
secondly i never said that operation has failed or something… what i have said is that the situation in country is getting bad day by day, which is the job of government to control, not army!
similarly here in this present operation, army is doing well,, and am not doubting the capabilities of army, but i am pointing towards the overall country’s situation.
All educational institutions are closed and the closing of educational institution is the last thing to do when the war begins!
Gen Kiyani, go for Marshal law….take every thing in your control coz these politicians can’t handle a bit of it!
These are all uneducated people….and democracy is not for ‘JAHIL LOG’
dictator is better then bad democracy!
We dont want “State of Emergency”
We want martial law.. Kick this A****** Zardari out of Pakistan!!
