And the mirror cracked from side to side

To put it in a few words, the relationship between Pakistan and the United States has been a victim of trust deficit for quite some time now. Whether it’s the presence of the American secret service agents Blackwater, the not too friendly language of the Kerry Lugar Bill, vacating of the check posts at the Pak-Afghan border, or currently the concerns of the United States on the security measures of Pakistan’s nuclear assets, less has been explained and more justified!

Senator Clinton’s visit although termed ‘pleasant’ and ‘friendly’ was not really as such. She had the courage to face the Pakistani press, but she deviated some crucial questions with the “I’m not aware of it” statement. After she left Pakistan, she seemed quite aware of it as she publicly denied the involvement of India in the on going terrorist activities, even though we have ample proof of their activities.

No comments were given by the Foreign office on the abandoning of the check posts at the Pak-Afghan border. The Army Chief, saving the day once again, very confidently stated that Pakistan Army requires no help, and is capable of dealing with the enemies of the State. Where was the government when all this was happening? Why was not a stronger sentiment shown by the government over such incidents?

The new allegations on the United States are rather disturbing. It is believed that America had planned to take full control of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal by the 15th of March 2009. 7000 US marines were sent who reached Dubai and then went back by the grace of God. It was believed that Pakistan will be fully occupied with the on going crisis and using ‘security concerns’ as a tool, America could easily take control of the nuclear assets. It is also believed that America provided a safe passage to Hakim Ullah Mehsud and helped him cross over to Afghanistan.

We do not yet know if these are merely rumors, or if there is some truth in these statements, but one thing is pretty clear, these are troubled times for Pakistan. Troubled because we have to fight the enemy within, and with the world going against us, we have to stand together, because

“United we stand, divided we fall”

God bless you all, and Long Live Pakistan!

Totally agree with every word in the article. I know as a citizen we are getting the pain but the thing is at some point I feel like can’t do any thing…
As we have media power they should bring up all pictures behind Pak -USA love story.

well…first of all a very nicely and precisely eloborated article.
i must say that Pakistani nation are in the habit of testing already tested people….. nation retesting old politicians and inreturn our politicians again retesting other countries..
its been 60 years now, Pakistan need to stand on its own feet, utilize its own resources. The answer of COAS is very appreciated.

I do know you kind of feel helpless in times likes these, but I guess we can show our support for the operation going on in South Waziristan and let our troops know that we are with them, and as for the political crisis going on, I don’t know when it will come to an end. There is too much of corruption, you simply can’t do anything about it but wait for a miracle to happen!
