GO GREEN

ggp 240x300 GO GREEN

It was 3rd of August 2009, i logged in to my facebook account and saw my friends picture background changed to green with a Pakistani flag in it. He also shared a message :

” If you want to go green, please send your picture to Go GREEN Pakistan”

And in no time the whole facebook was green. As i am not a follower of  Twitter later a friend of mine told me that same had happened on twitter as well.

This campaign was started by Farhan Masood, from Lahore. Now,Go Green Pakistan has a whole team of graphic designers who manually modify people’s display picture with a green background and a Pakistani flag. Go Green Pakistan team claims that they have turned more than 16,000 pictures green. These include pictures sent by people from Pakistan and abroad as well. People who claim to be friends of Pakistan also took part in this campaign and turned their pictures green. As a result whole of facebook and twitter was full of green colour.

Go Green 300x289 GO GREEN

Keeping in mind the current situation faced by Pakistanis, that is the law and order sitaution in Pakistan, war on terror By Pakistan and its aftereffects i think this was a great initiative taken by the “Go Green Pakistan” team in uniting all Pakistanis under a single agenda that we should be proud of our country. Go Green Campaign is still going on you can visit their website and give them your display picture and they will mail you back your photo that will keep you united with all other Pakistanis. This service is provided free of charge all you have to do is to send your picture and they will change it to green or login to www.gogreenpakistan.com. So what are you waiting for?? send your pictures to GreenKaro@gmail.com

The total number of greened display pics is now 15,000+ now:) The basic idea was not only about going green, but feeling being a True Pakistani with a revived spirit of love and hope for our country.

I really appreciate you writing on our campaign. Its all successful because of you people who participated in it by any mean possible. Graphic Designers, Promoters all have equal share in the campaign and made it a huge success.

Secondly I would like to mention that Go Green Pakistan crossed 16,000 benchmark. 16,000 display pictures of facebook and twitter are turned green.

Just love your Pakistan – Pakistan is our motherland, she gave birth to us and now its our duty to feed her.
